A home birth advocate has been charged with two counts of manslaughter following the death of two infants.
Police said on Tuesday they have arrested a 50-year-old woman from Petwood, southeast of Adelaide.
The woman charged is midwife and home birth advocate Lisa Barrett, according to The Advertiser.
Her arrest follows a lengthy investigation by detectives into the deaths of Tully Kavanagh in October 2011 and an unnamed boy who died after a home birth in December 2012, the newspaper reported.
The woman has been refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.
