Why there will be Champions League football at SIX different English grounds this season

The race to qualify for the Champions League went down to the wire last season.

Eventually Liverpool edged out Arsenal for the final top-four spot in the Premier League.

They will be joined by champions Chelsea , as well as Tottenham and Manchester City .

And Manchester United made it through by winning the Europa League final.

But a sixth English stadium will be hosting Champions League games this season.

Welsh champions The New Saints play their matches in Shropshire, on the English side of the Welsh border and their Park Hall Stadium will host at least one Champions League qualifier.

TNS enter the Champions League at the first qualifying round

The New Saints will enter the competition at the first qualifying round and would have to win four two-legged clashes to reach the group stage.

Last year TNS were knocked out of the Champions League in the second qualifying round by Apoel Nicosia.

They have won the Welsh Premier League for the past six years.
