Wallabies star Quade Cooper has taken a swipe at the supporter responsible for a viral post that slammed the Australian national side, despite coach Michael Cheika’s best attempts to remonstrate with the enraged fan.
Jack Quigley’s livid Facebook post was inundated with thousands of messages of support after the Wallabies’ latest defeat to Scotland on Saturday, yet Cooper has revealed he strongly disagreed with how he went about voicing his anger.
‘It’s great to see fans are hurting as well. Fans go through the tough times and the good times,’ Cooper said.

Wallabies head coach Michael Cheika decided to call the fan to discuss his comments and reassure the fan the side were doing all they could to reverse their fortunes after the shock defeat at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday
‘But it’s a different story when you just sit behind a keyboard and start throwing barbs at people.
‘You see it across all walks of life. That sort of stuff, I’ve got no respect for it,’ he added.
The 29-year-old’ supporter’s lengthy lament claimed the players had a ‘lack of application to their jobs,’ a remark Cooper categorically disagrees with.
‘When people are going out there and giving everything that they can in their given profession, it’s disappointing to see that.
‘But you’re going to see that. It’s what happens in this day and age. I’ve got no time for that.’
Mr Quigley spoke with Daily Mail Australia who welcomed Cooper’s comments revealing the fly-half was one of few Wallabies players who could hold their head high.

‘I like Quade, he’s just as entitled to his opinion of me as anyone else is.
‘I’ve been one Quade’s biggest fans for years, he’s one of the guys in world rugby that you’d happily pay your money to watch,’ Mr Quigley said.
The Wallabies fan received a surprise call from head coach Cheika on Monday as the pair had a detailed discussion regarding his Facebook tirade where he revealed Mr Quigley’s message had really hit home with the players.
It appears that his damning comments, which labelled the side ‘a disgrace’, have motivated the camp in Brisbane this week as the team looks to repair their reputations against Italy on Saturday.
‘The boys are working hard. The feeling’s good, the feeling’s as it should be,’ Cooper said.
‘We’re putting in the hard yards, a lot of work and it’s disappointing to get the loss.’
