  • Yeah don't do what they say which is; throw a wet towel under the door, call, and wait. I think I'd have a parachute just in case I can't get down. I can jump off. If it's not high enough pull the chute out and jump.

  • Flammable cladding, faulty fire alarm system so no alarm, no sprinklers, no fire extinguishers, only one stairwell, no fire evacuation plan/practice, residents told to stay in their flats, complaints about safety igmored . . . . . A government that can't govern and protect its citizens . . . Where in the world are these hell holes?? Oh, and maybe it's me, but what kind of metropolitan fire service only has what looks like a couple of pathetic, woefully inadequate fire hose cranes?? What about helicopters with water bombs? There are no words to describe how sickened I am by the evil corruption and greed which has caused this. Those in authority have blood on their hands. MURDERERS.

  • This is a fire from 200 years ago when entire buildings went up. Not a fire from the 21st century where buildings are designed to contain fires to the immediate area preventing spread to the rest of the building, and fresh air well lit escape routes are provided.

  • Heaven forbid that this should ever happen again but if all residents turned on full all of their sink and bath taps and flooded their homes, this would flood the flat below and the flat below that which would help until the fire services get there. Yes, your home would be flooded but that is better than burning to death.

  • Well the testimony of this people proves the cladding where the main cause of the flame to spread all over the building and the advice given to stay indoors is the mean cause of the deaths cause as far as I know the fire can't get to the concrete especially is painted with fire prove coatings, this tragedy is 98% is the cause of the cladding 2% of other possibilities is the cause of gas pipes been feted, but I only heard one person that said there were people working on some gas pipes days before and no one has talked about it in the media. also, the media are not talking about the person who said the fire started in his fridge.

  • WHY CANT THE FEKIN FB USE THE BIG WATER BUCKETS THEY USE FOR FOREST FIRES TO DROWN THE BUILDIND FROM ABOVE INSTEAD OF THE FEKIN GARDEN HOSE THAT WAS AIMED AT THE BUILDING. SAD, VERY SAD.

  • I live in a Tower Block here in West London and this block is even older than GRENFELL TOWER, and there are no sprinklers or water hose for tenants to use in case of fire.  The flight of steps which is meant for our escape is enclosed inside the block,  So in case of a fire we would be choked to death by smoke while using the stairs.  Its makes us wonder about the lack of intelligence of the people who designed these tower blocks. Its horrific seeing the children being thrown out of the windows, and tenants waving goodbye to us from their windows.  No wonder if Politicians had their way they would not have allowed us to witness these horrific scenes.  N Kensington Councillors don't give a shyte about these poor tenants, they would rather dump them somewhere distant from them.  At least we now know what the IRAQIs, AFGHANs, LIBYANs are going through when we send in the RAF and US-led COALITION FORCES to bomb their tower blocks and city centres.  Further we are too much of a COWARD to print pictures or even report in our daily press about the atrocities we inflict on daily basis on the citizens of the MIDDLE EAST.

  • ever since 9/11 things like this scare me so much and to watch on helpless horrified me 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 God bless all the family's and emergency services 😢😢😢😢😢

  • So I take it that the official line is that a fridge started that? And people are buying that? That fire is clearly the product of an accelerant. Cladding doesn't burn like that. In fact, it seems the cladding melted pretty quickly because there doesn't seem to be the thick black smoke that occurs when composite plastics are burning.

Those blocks, even without adequate protection, are compartmentalised by thick concrete and steel beams. A normal fire would not have spread like that. Of that I am sure.

  • THEY COULD HAVE SAVED MORE PEOPLE!
THEY COULD HAVE SAVED MORE PEOPLE!
THEY COULD HAVE SAVED MORE PEOPLE!
THEY COULD HAVE SAVED MORE PEOPLE!
Stop praising emergencey services! Stop down playing how many are dead!

  • And when they rebuild this building to sell to the rich – they will use the best non-flammable materials available with a state of the art fire prevention system. This was corporate genocide

  • I'm a landlord, if this block of flats was owed by a private land lord this would never happen. No private land lord would waste his money on cosmetic cladding, only politicians waste money in this way.
