A goat was crowned king of a small town in rural south-west Ireland.

For the Puck Fair, one of Ireland’s oldest festivals, residents of the town of Killorglin take a wild mountain goat out of his habitat and crown him King Puck for the duration of the festival.

This year’s king goat was paraded through the town on Thursday, before being crowned by the Queen of Puck – a local schoolgirl.

He appeared relaxed, if a little bemused, during his coronation ceremony.
