Los Blancos have been long-time admirers of the Spain No.1 and are understood to be keen on taking him to the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, with United wanting in excess of £60million for the 26-year-old, De Gea unwilling to force the issue of an Old Trafford departure and a number of Madrid’s senior players backing current No.1 Keylor Navas, a move this summer seems unlikely.
United fully expect De Gea to return for a seventh season at the club next term.
And according to Perez, a move for De Gea isn’t on the Spanish club’s agenda.
“We haven’t spoken to De Gea,” said Perez, speaking to Onda Cero. “Two years ago we had an issue and then the appropriate circumstances didn’t arise.
“The players are very fond of Keylor and also the coach. I like Keylor Navas.”
Perez was more forthcoming on Italian phenom Gianluigi Donnarumma however, but admits the Champions League winners are keeping tabs on the 18-year-old AC Milan stopper.
Madrid and a number of Europe’s elite have been put on red alert after Milan confirmed he would not be signing a new deal with the Rossoneri.
Donnarumma, already a senior Italy international, has one year left on his deal and Milan must now decide whether to part with him this summer, or lose him on a free next summer.
“Everyone says he’s a great player, he’s going to be the substitute for Buffon,” Perez said.
“And he seems to have very good manners. Surely we are watching him. But we will not talk about what we are doing.”
