Fatal collision at Hyde Park Corner

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision at Hyde Park Corner.

Police were called at 05:36hrs on Saturday, 10 June, to reports of a car in collision with a wall at the junction of Park Lane and Piccadilly.

Officers, the London Ambulance Service (LAS) and the London Fire Brigade (LFB) all attended.

One male (we await confirmation of his age) was extracted from the car by LFB and was treated by LAS, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second male in the car has been taken to hospital. His condition is critical.

Officers from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating.

DS Andy Davison said: “The drivers of a number of vehicles stopped to assist at the scene, some of whom drove off prior to the arrival of police. I would ask the occupants of those vehicles, and any other witnesses, to contact police by calling 101 or via Twitter @MetCC.”

Local road closures are in place and enquires continue.
