- The car was pulled over by police in Russia’s Karachay-Cherkess Republic
- Officers couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw a stolen cow on the back seat
- They contacted the cow’s owner who then dragged the beast out using a rope
This is the shocking moment a fully-grown cow was dragged out of the back seat of a car after it was stolen by cattle rustlers.
The silver Lada car was pulled over by police in the Ust-Dzhegutinsky district of Russia’s mountainous Karachay-Cherkess Republic.
Officers could not believe their eyes when they saw the animal wedged into the back of the vehicle.
The owner of the animal tied a rope around the animal’s horns and then used all of his strength to pull it out of the vehicle
Rather than risk tangling with the unhappy-looking beast, they contacted the owner and asked him to come and collect it.
An eyewitness then caught the incredible rescue on camera.
The man managed to tie a rope around the cow’s horns and then used all of his strength to pull it out of the back of the vehicle.
Unsurprisingly, the cow did not appear to be too happy about the procedure as it was wedged in so tightly that it had to be dragged out on its knees.

It seemed badly affected by its ordeal and could barely get to its feet

The footage is proving popular with viewers after being posted on video-sharing websites.
Many commented that they could not imagine how the would-be thieves managed to get the animal into the back of the car in the first place.
‘Lepso’ wrote: ‘These people steal a cow in a freaking Lada. They literally had to push the cow inside in order to move it. And what were the odds of being stopped by cops that day?’
‘Miska_gilry’ added: ‘Poor cow, I hope it didn’t suffer inside the car for too long. It must have felt so uncomfortable in there.’
Three men have been arrested.
