Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu is heading back to Barcelona.
Deulofeu, 23, joined Everton from Barca on a permanent deal in 2015 but failed to win over current boss Ronald Koeman.
He spent last season on loan at Milan but will now rejoin Barca after they exercised a buy-back clause.
Deulofeu is set to cost the Catalan giants around £10.5m, reports the Liverpool Echo.
According to sources in Spain, new Barca boss Ernesto Valverde intends to move Lionel Messi back into midfield in order to shoehorn Deulofeu into his famed front three, playing him to the right of Luis Suarez and Neymar.
Blues boss Ronald Koeman started last season with Deulofeu as a central striker with Romelu Lukaku recovering from a heel injury, but as soon as the Belgian was available Deulofeu found himself on the periphery of the starting line up and in January joined AC Milan on loan.
In Italy the Spaniard scored four goals and registered three assists in 17 appearances.
He is currently captaining Spain’s Under-21 team at the European Championships in Poland.
Barcelona decided against taking up the option of signing Deulofeu for £6.3m ($8m) last summer when Luis Enrique was in charge at the Camp Nou.
But he has since been replaced by Valverde which has instigated the change of heart.
In April, Barcelona technical secretary Robert Fernandez confirmed the club will make an attempt to re-sign Deulofeu.
The winger is expected to complete his transfer from Everton following the completion of Spain Under-21’s campaign in Poland.
