Australian prisoner escapes from Bali’s Kerobokan prison

Australian prisoner Shaun Davidson is among four inmates who have dug under the walls of the notorious Kerobokan Prison and escaped. 

The prison’s governor confirmed he fled the Indonesian prison on Monday morning, according to 9 News.    

Davidson was sentenced in September 2016 to a year behind bars for using another person’s passport.

He only had two and a half months remaining on his sentence after being taken into custody on April 5, 2016. 

Prison guards found a small 50cm by 75cm hole behind a prison clinic where the inmates are alleged to have escaped on Monday, 9 News reported. 

The other three inmates to escape are Dimitar Nikolov Iliev, Sayed Mohammed Said and Tee Kok King Bin Tee Kim Sai. 

Davidson is wanted in Perth, charged with possessing methamphetamine and cannabis. 

He didn’t attend his January 2016 court date and flew to Bali instead, which led to a warrant for his arrest being issued.
